My next European adventure...

...Barcelona!

Yes, I am the fortunate lady who will be traveling to Barcelona in February with my husband, who HAS to be there for work. Oh, the trials and tribulations of jobs that require trips to Spain!

I know very little about Barcelona, so I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or suggestions from my loyal few. I do know about la Sagrada familia, the famously unfinished cathedral by illustrious Catalan architect Gaudi, pictured above. What a wonderful thing it will be to walk around the city, admiring his work.

It is nice to have first-hand, trustworthy advice, so really, please pass on your Spanish travel anecdotes. It would be ever so convenient to be prepared for my journey with knowledge other than the difference between a Spanish tortilla and a Mexican tortilla.

That's it for now! Off to attack the piles of boxes in the garage!

You have to go to Mercat de la BoquerĂa. It's the big open air market in the middle of Barcelona. Some really amazing food stuffs there, you'll love it! Don't be shocked by the insane cuts of meat though (eyeballs, tongues, brains, you name it). A feast of colors and smells and foods.

How wonderful! I haven't been, but if you don't mind bringing a nine month pregnant lady and her three small children, I would love to join you. Have a fantastic trip and we want details when you get back!

I know you watched the Bachelor tonight... didn't you? Aren't you glad that Monday nights cat fights are back on? Caleb played poker and watched the UT game with the boys while I watched the ladies duke it out...

You need to walk down Las Ramblas. Check out all the living "statues" and down to the (real) statue of Christopher Columbus. You KNOW I had to partake in the Hard Rock Cafe there for my shotglass collection!!
